trying to beg for forgiveness.

Asher Warren - Liam Payne - 19 years old - English native.

To call Asher Warren a gentleman would be an understatement. He was raised to be considerate of everything he had, to never step out of line, and to make sure that he was friendly to every person he ever came across from. That was his personality. He never had anything bad to say, always had a smile on his face, and that was it.  Despite the attributes, he wasn’t part of the popular crowd, he always was tripping over his words and shying his way away from intense conversation. He was acquaintances with anyone, always saying hello to anyone in the hall that he could but when it came to human interaction for real? He chickened out and clamped his mouth shut, blushing furiously and tried his best to get out of it in the least apparent way. Don’t get him wrong, he loved people and wish he just had the guts to approach someone or hold up a conversation with someone new but he couldn’t. His best friend was a boy by the name of David Myers, someone who had approached Asher on the first day of primary school and demanded to be friends. He was fine with that, they were close and he was the only one Asher could really talk to. Yet, Asher had a few other friends that were merely just ones he could have a chat with and hang out with. He admired the popular crowds from afar, longing to have confidence to be like them. In reality, Asher wished to have confidence to speak to just a certain blonde girl that terrified him but fascinated him in the same. Charlie Hastings was someone he definitely watched, even if she was four years older than him. They lived across the street and as much as her sarcastic attitude and witty comments were supposed to ward him off, Asher just wanted the chance to talk to her. It wasn’t until the Hastings siblings moved to America that Asher really realized how much he missed the blonde haired girl and decided to take a risk in leaving his old life to go to unfamiliar land, to speak to the girl who had captivated his heart from the start.

Alyssa Carmichael - Sophia Bush - 22 years old - Works for the local diner.

No one can truly pinpoint Lyssa’s attitude, maybe because she has several. All the sides of her seem to be meshed together into a girl with a taste for life. Lyssa’s loud, talkative, and easily known for her thoughts being sprung out without a filter in her brain. The girl might eat too much and cuss not so little but at least she’s being honest with herself, right? Lyssa is trying her best to get through life with little trouble, though she might start a bit herself, she rather just be happy like everyone else seems to be. She’s often working toward whatever goal she has that week. Her mood swings might hit the wrong spot in some people but she’s being herself and that’s all the young girl cares about. Working at the diner isn’t all that bad, she makes friends with some of the locals and has careless chats with the other employees so she’s happy with the way life is. She’s even happier when Amanda invites her to listen to the new talent the cafe has, meeting the very charming Trevor Hastings - who catches her eye easily. Being a hopeless romantic, she can’t help but fall into a pit of cheesy feelings and she often hopes for someone to whisk her off her feet. She might just get her wish soon.

Samantha Santiago - Naya Rivera - 23 years old - Barista at the local cafe.

There’s two sides to Samantha, just like a coin. There’s the side that she shows to people at her work and then the side she shows to ones that are true to her. Samantha isn’t too keen about her job at the cafe, people can be rude and disrespectful but Sam has her friend, Amanda, to keep her through the days. Yet, on the other side of her shiny self, Samantha is nothing more than a quirky girl with a love for many things. She enjoys being outside and listening to the talent that comes through the cafe, which ends up helping her meet the two brothers and sister that would be the Hastings siblings - being their guide through America. Samantha likes making jokes and getting others to laugh, it makes her feel better about herself. She’s the type of person who can listen, she’s the type of person who is quick to make her opinion heard and let it be known when she’s upset. The world is a challenging event for Samantha and she just wants to make it through okay, just like the rest. She’s learned that life is hard but she rather just strive through it and get better than what she is - knowing that the world is out there for her to conquer.

Amanda Kennedy - Amber Tamblyn - 24 years old - Waitress at the local diner.

A smile and a sarcastic comment will forever be seen on Amanda’s lips. These are two characteristics that everyone knows about Amanda, and even the ones that just happen to cross her path. Now, Amanda is not mean even though she might come off as that way but her hyperactive persona makes her someone who is easy to talk with. Amanda is the type of girl who might stumble over her words when she easily nervous but when you start to mess with anyone she loves, she’ll lash out at you so fast that your head might spin from the impact. She’s a relatively sweet girl with a mother-like complex that is fine with the locals since she can easily keep up a conversation with them. Amanda makes a living from tips and paychecks at the local diner, Shiloh’s, which is run by a older man that may or may not be her father (it is though!). She’s hoping to acquire the diner when her father leaves the world since it is her pride and joy. Everyone that passes through it knows much of Amanda and her bubbly spirit, since she tends to make everyone around her smile at least once. She hangs out at the cafe too, across the street, since her friend, Samantha, works there. And that’s where she bumps into Gavin Hastings, who scared her initial at first with his height and voice but no one can say no to a British accent, can they? Not even Amanda, who might see love songs and romantic comedies a bit too cheesy for her sake but there’s something about Gavin that makes her take a step back in her life. Since, everyone needs help sometimes.

Trevor Hastings - Kendall Schmidt - 21 years old - Youngest Child.

There was never another person that was dorkier than Trevor Hastings. While the other two siblings made their mark on the small town, Trevor did the same but in the way of jokes and laughter. He was the boy that told cheesy jokes in the quad or whispered comments in the back of the class room. He just wanted to be liked, have approval from someone. He wanted the popularity of Charlie but the friends that Gavin had. He bonded with anyone he came across, always having a smile on his face and something nice to say. He was quite the gentlemen, never made any jokes at anyone’s expense but he was taught better than that. He was well put together, eager to be there to make someone laugh. It was a good trait and he carried it well into his adulthood. It was on his 21st birthday that they all decided to head to America. Trevor loved everything America and learned about the country whenever he can. It was a foreign land that he wanted to know everything about. His brother and him had formed a band, though Trevor was much more into the dance aspect of music rather than music itself but he was happy to be singing up there with Gavin or strum the guitar when he could. He was a dancer at heart and attend classes (without anyone really knowing he wasn’t actually a part of the class) but he didn’t really want to break down his brother’s dream and went along with it. America wasn’t everything he hoped it to be, seeing as it wasn’t all accepting as it came across. Himself and his siblings got many comments from their origin or that they weren’t the right style of New York but Trevor, being himself, put a smile on and ignored much of the comments. He continued to practice, continued to sing, and continued to keep everyone in high spirits because that was his job - to keep the happiness around as much as he could.

Gavin Hastings - Charlie Simpson - 26 years old - Oldest Child.

Gavin, Gavin, Gavin. A man that looks intimidating with his fierce stare and deep voice yet Gavin is anything but. What Gavin is is just a giant teddy bear. He’s there for someone who needs it, always offering kind words of advice or just a hug. He was the one that patched up his siblings’ injuries when they fell off their bike or one to stand up to anyone that harmed them. Being the oldest, Gavin had a lot of responsibilities, including playing the shoulder to cry on. Maybe Gavin’s too much of a pushover and lets people walk all over him, because everyone knows that he does. He doesn’t like seeing others hurt, he doesn’t like seeing pain but Gavin goes through much pain himself. Gavin’s close to his siblings, being able to wrestle and rock out with Trevor and having to keep Charlie out of trouble (though Charlie doesn’t allow anyone to know that she’s the one that Gavin can have heart to heart conversations with), even with two people next to him he doesn’t see himself as worthy of anything. He’s been rejected many times, laughed at and made fun of, for many things. His height, his teeth, his personality. Anything that anyone could make fun of, they did. But Gavin pushes his pain through his songs and music, his guitar being his best friend. All he wants is to share his story with someone, anyone that would listen because maybe the one that was always there for people needed someone who would be there for him. America was his safest bet and he’s happy with the band he formed with his brother but he often wonders if pulling both of his siblings into the life that they have now (which consists of a broken down apartment, the same food every night for dinner and barely having any money) was the right choice.

Charlene “Charlie” Hastings - Dianna Agron - 23 years old - Middle Child.

The Hastings’ family was known throughout their small neighborhood and that didn’t stop especially when it came to little Charlene. Everyone knew of darling Miss Charlie, her teachers at school had mixed feelings about her and the kids on the playground didn’t know whether to admire her or feel a little fear. Charlie was best known for her pranks, for her witty remarks and dashing ability to come up with the quickest excuses anyone had ever seen. The traits applied to Charlie well up into adulthood. Even as a 23 year old, the young blonde is seen with a devilish smirk on her face and a thought brewing in her head. The best thing to do was befriend her, though that didn’t keep you completely out of her line of fire. She grew up to be a beautiful young woman and everyone hope that she would also grow out of her childish stage but that never quite went away with Charlie. Some would argue that Gavin is the ringmaster when it comes to the Hastings siblings but everyone knows that the leader is the petite blonde. She may look innocent but her sharp tongue would leave anyone not wanting anymore. Charlie’s best attribute was her impulsive nature, that she never really thought of any consequences and rarely had a doubt in her mind about anything. That left her brothers to be pulled into her schemes and now, even in America, Charlie bears true to her self, showing that no matter how innocent and precious a girl might look - she’s just as eager to put anyone down that dares cross her. While Charlie might be fierce and have much of a bite to her bark, she also has a deep artistic side she rarely lets out except when painting. It calms her, each brush stroke putting another storyline of hers on a canvas. It’s the way she branches out in the world because maybe, Charlie wants people to know her more than the girl who caused trouble - but the one with the deeper mind and a broken soul.
